In the remote village of Eldergrove, stood a centuries-old church. Locals whispered about the eerie statue of an angel inside, said to come to life at night. One stormy evening, Sarah, a skeptical historian, decided to investigate.

As thunder roared, Sarah entered the dark, silent church. The statue's eyes seemed to follow her every move. Ignoring her unease, she began her research. Suddenly, the temperature dropped, and faint whispers filled the air.

Sarah looked up to see the statue had moved. Its stone eyes now glowed with a malevolent light. Panic set in as the whispers grew louder, turning into sinister laughter. She tried to leave, but the heavy church doors slammed shut.

The statue’s wings unfurled, and it descended upon her. Sarah’s screams echoed through the empty church. By morning, she was gone, and the statue’s face bore a new, twisted grin. Eldergrove had lost another soul.
