Materi: Recount Text – A Party
Durasi: 2 x 40 menit
Tujuan Pembelajaran:
Setelah pembelajaran, siswa diharapkan dapat:

  1. Mengidentifikasi struktur dan ciri kebahasaan recount text.
  2. Memahami isi recount text dengan tema a party.
  3. Menulis recount text sederhana tentang pengalaman menghadiri pesta.

A. PEMBUKA (10 Menit)

  1. Apersepsi:
    • Guru menampilkan gambar pesta ulang tahun dan pesta perpisahan.
    • Bertanya kepada siswa: Have you ever attended a party? What kind of party was it?
  2. Motivasi:
    • Guru menjelaskan bahwa mereka akan belajar tentang recount text, yang digunakan untuk menceritakan pengalaman masa lalu, khususnya tentang pesta.

B. KEGIATAN INTI (60 Menit)

1. Pengenalan Materi (15 Menit)

  • Guru menjelaskan definisi recount text:
    Recount text is a text that tells about past experiences in chronological order.
  • Struktur recount text:
    1. Orientation (pengantar: siapa, kapan, di mana)
    2. Events (rangkaian kejadian)
    3. Reorientation (kesimpulan atau perasaan penulis)
  • Ciri kebahasaan:
    • Menggunakan past tense (went, had, was, were, etc.).
    • Menggunakan kata hubung waktu (then, after that, finally).

2. Contoh Teks (15 Menit)

Guru memberikan contoh teks singkat:

"My Best Friend’s Birthday Party"
Last Saturday, I went to my best friend's birthday party. It was held at her house. The decorations were beautiful, and there were many balloons.

First, we played some fun games. Then, we ate delicious food and sang a birthday song. After that, she cut the birthday cake and gave us each a piece. Finally, we took pictures and went home happily.

It was an amazing party!

(Diterjemahkan bersama siswa untuk memahami isi teks.)

3. Latihan Pemahaman (15 Menit)

  • Siswa membaca teks dan menjawab pertanyaan:
    1. When did the party happen?
    2. Where was the party held?
    3. What activities did they do?
    4. How did the writer feel about the party?

4. Kegiatan Menulis (15 Menit)

  • Siswa menulis recount text pendek (5-7 kalimat) tentang pesta yang pernah mereka hadiri, dengan panduan:
    1. Orientation: Who, when, where?
    2. Events: What happened?
    3. Reorientation: How did you feel?

C. PENUTUP (10 Menit)

  1. Refleksi:
    • Guru bertanya: What have you learned today?
    • Siswa menyebutkan kembali ciri-ciri recount text.
  2. Evaluasi:
    • Beberapa siswa membacakan teks mereka di depan kelas.
  3. Pesan & Motivasi:
    • Guru memberi pujian dan menyemangati siswa untuk terus menulis dalam bahasa Inggris.

Penilaian:
Pemahaman teks (menjawab pertanyaan)
Kreativitas menulis (kelengkapan struktur dan penggunaan past tense)
Keberanian berbicara (membacakan teks di depan kelas)
